What is coaching?

The path in life is rarely smooth – especially for women with ADHD. Through coaching, we work together to find clarity and light the way forward. A coaching session is essentially just a great conversation – one in which you have a safe space to discuss whatever issues you’d like to address. Perhaps you have a big decision to make, but don’t know which way to turn. Or maybe you have so many things going on, you are paralyzed not knowing what to do first. Perhaps you know exactly what you want to do but for some reason you just can’t get started. Or maybe you’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere along the way and feel lost.

What does coaching entail?

As a coach, I listen and I ask questions to help you reflect and find your own solutions to your issues. We work together towards the goals that you set for yourself, since you are the expert in your own life. Along the way we might discuss ADHD itself – what the diagnosis really means for you. We might experiment, we might create prototypes to test, or we might find real innovation and set plans in motion. It’s friendly, meaningful, and productive. By the end of every coaching session, you will walk away with something to try, something to change, or at least a new way of seeing things.

  • Expanding your self-compassion
  • Developing creative coping strategies within your personal life and work life

  • Navigating hyper-focus
  • Overcoming time management challenges

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. There are some similarities, but coaching and therapy are not the same. In coaching, we focus on what you can DO to move forward towards your goals in life. It is active, has momentum, and is forward-looking, although we might occasionally discuss the past to bring context to a situation. In therapy, you’d be more likely to review past experiences in depth, discuss trauma, or grief, or other heavier emotions. Both are supportive, safe spaces, and both can bring life-changing insight.

If you’d like to find out if coaching is right for you, book a discovery call. I’d love to hear from you.
